Fishing lessons - Fly fishing tuition

We can arrange coarse fishing lessons and professional fly fishing tuition for school parties, small groups, birthday treats or on a one-to-one basis. Our training pond is packed with obliging fish, so with expert guidance, learners should start catching fish from the word go.
Oliver and Tony, pictured left and right, were mighty pleased when they landed over twenty fish between them at their first attempt.

Barlow Fishery - Open all year for trout and coarse day tickets.

Trout lakeOn the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District and quite close to the South Yorkshire border, Barlow Trout and Coarse Fishery is set in 50 acres of beautiful secluded valley.
Comprising of holiday cottages, a camping club site , four trout lakes, four coarse lakes and a fresh water brook the fishery is situated only four miles from Chesterfield and ten miles from Sheffield city centre.  The fishery can be reached in around 15-20 minutes from junction 29 of the M1 motorway.
Day tickets are available for fly fishing from £10 per day and a full day on the coarse lakes will cost £5. Usually, the trout lakes are re-stocked on a weekly basis from our own hatchery and the fish are normally introduced at between 1.5 and 2 lbs.
Facilities include ample car parking, a lakeside snack bar, toilets and fishing tackle hire.  Fly fishing tuition can be arSnack barranged and general advice is always freely available.
Due to our hard standing paths and roads, the fishery remains practically mud free, even after the heaviest rain.   Disabled anglers will find flat and easy access to the coarse lakes.
Barlow lakes are open all year from dawn to dusk.

We also sell fish suitable for ornamental ponds and gardens.  Species include Orfe, Koi, Golden Tench, Shubunkin, Barbel and Chub.  Please telephone 07929 206 269 for a price list.
